Deben acquires KE Developments

Deben UK Limited, a division of AIM listed Judges Scientific PLC are pleased to announce that on 6th March 2012 they completed the asset purchase of KE Developments Limited (KED).

KE Developments originally incorporated in 1977 manufactures a range of SEM accessories including back scattered, EBIC and CL detectors, chamber-scopes and peltier stages. The KED product range complements that currently offered by Deben which includes a range of SEM accessories comprising peltier stages, chamber-scopes and stage automation systems as well as tensile stages and European representation of AMT TEM camera systems.

Production will initially continue at the KED facilities in Toft Cambridgeshire while preparations are made to incorporate the business into Deben. It is anticipated that KED production will be moved to the Deben facility in Woolpit, Bury St. Edmunds within four to five months.

Although the scale of KED's output has lessened in recent years we are confident that the core business, supported by excellent technology will thrive within Deben and offer distinct benefits to our customer base."
